All our teachers are able to:
check an email account daily and manage it efficiently
use a computer or laptop and trouble shoot basic functions ie on/off,
connect to printer, connection to internet
store and retrieve data from a hard drive eg your computer
use the internet to search, find information and to communicate
know how to particpate in online environments eg blogs or forums or
Trademe or Facebook etc
manage music files in software eg in iTunes
manage photo files using software eg iphoto / Microsoft Picture Manager
download photos from a camera
use a word processing document efficiently
store and retrieve data from a hard drive eg your computer
All our teachers will need to learn quickly (with help available) once on the job:
edit online pages e.g blog or Google sites
manage web storage space – e.g. divshare / dropbox
store and retrieve from school network
join and use the school wiki for notices and bookings
how to record and edit audio
create a basic presentation eg Keynote or Google or Prezi or Powerpoint
saving files in a variety of file formats (e.g .mov, .jpg, .doc etc)
print to networked printers
use the data projector
use PhotoBooth / Webcam
access Google Docs
create and edit a short video clip using imovie / Moviemaker
create and edit audio using garageband / Audacity / Aviary
Our teachers should aspire to learn how to:
• administer a student blog and/or wiki ie upload content, manage
commenting, manage student use
use Google Apps - personally and with students
use a graphics programme suitable to the level of our students (e.g
Hyperstudio, Pixelmator, Photoshop)
burn to cd and/or dvd
